Rompler
Is Omnisphere A Rompler Key
- Jul 17, 2019 That includes being a granular, wavetable, FM, VA, multi-layers, etc. (except Air Tech Xpand which is just a rompler). By no means am I saying Omnisphere 2 is a bad plugin.
- Nov 04, 2018 Thanks, I checked it out, and yeah that does have some very nice sounds. But I'm software only. Neither Omnisphere nor Nexus have the sounds I'm looking for. Hasn't someone made a hip-hop/rnb styled rompler yet??? I do have Kontakt, if anyone knows a good library for that.
- September 14, 2019. A slang term given to sound modules that feature stock presets based on samples stored in ROM, but generally lack in-depth synthesis technology and sampling capabilities. The term is a conjunction of the terms ROM and Sampler.
A rompler is an electronic music instrument that plays audio samples stored in ROM chips to generate sound. In contrast to samplers, romplers do not record audio and have limited or no capability for generating original waveforms. The term rompler is a portmanteau of the terms ROM and sampler. Both may have additional sound editing features, such as layering several waveforms and modulation with ADSR envelopes and LFOs.Romplers are often packaged as music hardware sound modules, such as the E-mu Proteus line of products and the Roland U-20. Almost all digital pianos and many electronic keyboards are romplers. The term rompler may also describe software instruments such as VSTis. These do not have the ability to record new samples; instead, samples are replayed from computer RAM after they are loaded from disk. Popular examples of software romplers are reFX Nexus and Spectrasonics Omnisphere. In this context, a software instrument can only be considered a rompler if it restricts the user to certain bundled sounds, without allowing them to load their own samples.
Sep 25, 2016 Yes Omnisphere 2 is great. I have Komplete 10 as well but apart from Kontakt for some third party sample libraries I don't really use it much. It doesn't have a synth that is all round anywhere near as good as Omnisphere. Individual NI synths have. What would you suggest? I really want to make music in the genres techno/trance, dubstep, rock/pop, and also orchestral.
